Accompanied by choirgirls and orchestra,
the only dance approved for a Catholic church
was performed over five centuries by choirboys
on religious holidays at Spai
n’s Seville Cathedral.
Banned in the 17th century by Rome, the dance
revived after multitudes appealed to the Pope.
Line-ups . . . turns . . . circles . . . tiptoes ~
slowly marching with most solemn dignity,

dancers play castanets with both hands.
As to sound volume, it's . . . Spanish.

PBS sometimes excerpts the dance.

Fifteen of these works pay homage to currency art ~
country names appear above those paintings
when the titles do not identify them.

During Britain's Crimean War campaign, Nurse Florence Nightingale
was known as "Lady with the Lamp" from a report in
The Times (London):

She is a ‘ministering angel’ in these hospitals, and as her slender form
glides quietly along each c
orridor, every poor fellow's face softens with
gratitude at the sight of her.  When all the medical officers have retired
for the night, and silence and darkness settle upon those miles of
prostrate sick, she may be observed alone, with a little lamp
in her hand, making her solitary rounds."

All b&w photos of Florence Nightingale show the ravages

of fatigue and sickness which almost claimed her life ~
military field rations were atrocious ~ though she lived to 90.
So I "prescribed a restoration of fresh fruits, vegetables,
vitamins, exercise, rest, sunshine" ~ then painted a portrait
from the British
£10 note derived from a drawing by
Bank of England's designer Harold Norman Eccleston.
